Transfer news: Brighton boss Sami Hyypia looking to add quickly

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Sami Hyypia is aware that 'time is running out' on his efforts to make pre-season additions.
Three fresh faces have been added to the ranks at the Amex Stadium, in the form of Chris O’Grady, Nzuzi Toko and Aaron Hughes, but top marksman Leonardo Ulloa has left for Leicester City.
That deal brought in big money, but that will only be of benefit if the funds can be put to good use.
Clubs across the country have until September 1 to complete their transfer business, which gives them a little over a month.
Time is running out a little bit but we are working hard to get the players in and when it happens is not only up to me.
Hyypia acknowledges that the clock is ticking, with Brighton still in need of reinforcements, but has complete faith in chairman Tony Bloom and head of football David Burke as they battle behind the scenes to get deals done.
He said in The Argus: “Hopefully we’ll get a few additions before the season starts.
“Time is running out a little bit but we are working hard to get the players in and when it happens is not only up to me.
“The chairman and David Burke are working hard to recruit new faces and hopefully we’ll get them in soon.
“Of course we are waiting to get a few more players in the squad.
“It was not good when we lost Leo. I would have liked to have kept him here scoring goals for us but, when a player wants to go, it’s a very difficult situation for all of us.
“Now it has been resolved and now we need to find a replacement for him.”
