Sky Bet Championship: Rotherham boss Steve Evans is looking forward to Wolves test

Rotherham renew rivalries with Wolves this weekend and boss Steve Evans believes his side are facing an even bigger test than last season.

The Millers went head-to-head with Kenny Jackett's side in Sky Bet League One last year in a promotion battle which yielded success for both, Wolves as runaway champions and Evans' men as play-off winners.

Both clashes between the two sides were thrilling encounters with a 3-3 draw at Rotherham in December followed by an epic 6-4 win for Wolves on Good Friday - with the Millers scoring 23 per cent of the total goals that Wolves conceded throughout the whole season.

Having strengthened their squad over the summer Wolves are tipped to battle it out for another promotion and Evans is a fan of the Black Country club.

"Under Kenny Jackett I think they have made some very good signings over the summer and I echo what many pundits think by saying they will challenge for automatic promotion," he told Press Association Sport ahead of the Millers' opening league home game of the season.

"This game has got all the hallmarks to have similarities to last season's games, both teams have strengthened in the summer and both are set up to win matches.

"I have a lot of admiration for Wolves as a football club. The fans were absolutely outstanding last season, they were worthy champions.

"We have got a tough test coming but but these were the days we dreamed of back in League Two."
