Birmingham City's bid to sign Trabzonspor midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has stalled, Sky sources understand, with Harry Redknapp increasingly frustrated over transfers.
Redknapp revealed last week that a deal was close for the 24-year-old, while reports in Turkey have said a £4m fee has been agreed.
But Sky Sports News understands while there is a broad agreement over personal terms, the player remains training with Trabzonspor in Turkey as Birmingham try to sort the necessary paperwork.
It is understood the Nigeria international requires a work permit which will not be straightforward to secure.
Redknapp insisted he would not allow defender Ryan Shotton to leave Birmingham until new faces were brought in, despite the Blues agreeing a fee with Middlesbrough for the centre-back.
Shotton was brought on as a first-half substitute in Birmingham's goalless draw with Bolton on Tuesday after captain Michael Morrison suffered a broken nose.
