Sunderland manager Roy Keane was determined not to get carried away despite his side recording their first away victory of the season at Villa Park.
A goal from substitute Michael Chopra in the 83rd minute was enough to hand Sunderland the win over European hopefuls Aston Villa.
The win increases Sunderland's survival hopes but Keane insists he will ensure the players do not lose their focus.
"We'll wait and see just how big of a win it was," Keane told
Sky Sports. "We'll look at the end of the season and maybe then realise how big a win it was.
Chances
"We felt like we did enough to get over the finish line today when we haven't in previous games.
"We did have chances but credit to Villa they had one or two chances as well."
Chopra's goal was his fourth of the season and Keane is not surprised that the former Newcastle striker slotted it home.
"When Chopra came on and got that chance we did fancy him one on one with the keeper because he's good at that," Keane added.
Delighted
"Chops has contributed a lot to the team and you have to remember I've played him out of position a few times.
"Today, for Chops I'm delighted. It was a big blow to lose Kenwyne (Jones) yesterday.
"I'm delighted for the players because they do work hard and I'm delighted for the supporters who pay a lot of money to travel and watch us.
"Of course we have to build, try and kick on, but we're in there fighting. The last seven games are bigger than cup finals."
