Derby have completed another summer signing after bringing in Kevin Kilbane on loan from Hull City.

Loan arrival is Clough's ninth signing of the summer

Derby County have completed another summer signing after bringing in Kevin Kilbane on a six-month loan deal from Championship rivals Hull City. The 34-year-old, who has been capped 110 times by the Republic of Ireland, has struggled to secure a regular place at the KC Stadium. Kilbane, who can also play left-back, spent the end of last season on loan at League One side Huddersfield but Clough has swooped to secure his ninth capture of the summer. "Kevin brings with him a wealth of experience, as well as the ability to play in a variety of positions," Clough told Derby's official website. "He is an international footballer, so first and foremost it is exciting for us to attract another player of that ilk to Derby County. "We believe he will be a welcome addition to our squad and, given the type of character and player he is, we have no doubt he will do a good job for us." Kilbane could now make his Derby debut in the opening game of the new season against relegated Birmingham City on Saturday.
