Roy Hodgson was pleased his West Brom side managed to nick all three points with a 1-0 win over Chelsea at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies were the better side for much of the contest but the result remained in the balance until Gareth McAuley's late winner.
And Hodgson was happy to be on the right side of a close game.
"For long periods we were in the ascendancy," said the Albion boss.
"When it is 0-0 you do fear the opponent might nick one but you always live in hope that you'll steal a goal and fortunately it was our turn to steal one.
"It's been the other way for us at home this season."
Three wins in a row
Those difficulties in front of their own fans must seem a long way off for West Brom after back-to-back wins over Sunderland and Chelsea at The Hawthorns.
The victories were preceded by a 5-1 hammering of rivals Wolves at Molineux and Hodgson is savouring this special run.
"It's not often you can win three straight games," he admitted. "It hasn't happened too many times in my seven years in the Premier League.
"I can't think of any off the top of my head but hopefully there is if you dig deep enough.
"And we haven't exactly done it against weak opponents."
