Wolves manager Mick McCarthy believes he saw signs of improvement, despite the defeat at Liverpool.
A Roger Johnson own goal and a skilful effort from Luis Suarez put their hosts on cruise control, but the visitors produced a second-half fightback following substitute Steven Fletcher's goal shortly after half-time.
And although unsuccessful, McCarthy thought his side's second 45 minutes at Anfield was reason to be positive in the wake of the wretched 3-0 defeat to QPR.
The Wolves boss told
Sky Sports: "(We have) had one really poor performance and an awful result last weekend against QPR. They played well, but we didn't play particularly well.
"We have had performances out of them every week, apart from that, so there is always something to build on."
Impact
McCarthy started against Liverpool with just Kevin Doyle as a lone frontman, but sacrificed David Edwards at half-time to introduce Fletcher, who was returning from a groin injury.
Teenager Matt Doherty, who earlier this week signed a new three-year contract, also came on for his Premier League debut as a replacement for Richard Stearman.
And McCarthy was delighted with the impact of the changes, as he said: "It's not the result I wanted, because we have been beaten. But it was a far better performance."
He added: "We had a difficult first half and had a really excellent second half. The two subs played very well.
"Fletcher wasn't right for 90 minutes. He was still feeling it (the injury) yesterday when I spoke to him. Matt Doherty, I thought, had an excellent Premier League debut."
