Defender departs Sociedad for German side

Norwegian centre-back Vadim Demidov has joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a three-year deal from Real Sociedad after snubbing a move to Wolves. New Wolves boss Stale Solbakken revealed last week the club were set to miss out on the 25-year-old because they would not match Frankfurt's contract offer. Sociedad had previously accepted a reported £1million offer from the Midlanders for the defender but talks with chief executive Jez Moxey did not go to plan. Demidov has now completed a move to the Bundesliga side for an undisclosed fee after notching up 40 appearances for Sociedad, who he joined from native club Rosenborg in January 2011. Frankfurt's director of sport Bruno Hubner said in a statement: "We are very pleased to have been able to bring this transfer to a successful conclusion for Eintracht Frankfurt. "We have been able to sign a strong central defender who has leadership qualities and therefore fits into the team profile of Eintracht Frankfurt and head coach Armin Veh."
