League One side sign Mills and Trotter on loan until end of season

Scunthorpe have extended the loans of Joseph Mills and Liam Trotter until the end of the season. The new deals also enable both players to appear for The Iron should they reach the play-offs and with the club sitting in sixth place that could be a distinct possibility. Since signing from Southampton at the end of February 19-year-old Mills has featured eight times for the League One outfit and fitted in admirably in the left-back position. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Trotter has failed to make a single start since arriving from Ipswich a month ago but has come off the bench five times. Both players possess Championship experience and this could prove vital as Scunthorpe look to make an immediate return to England's second tier. The pair should be in action at home to midtable Colchester on Saturday as Nigel Adkins' side look to cement their position in the play-offs.
