The consortium in talks to takeover Southampton has held discussions with Kevin Keegan.
Pinnacle Consortium struck an exclusivity deal with The Saints' administrators late last month, which lasted for 21 days.
Matt Le Tissier is a figurehead for Pinnacle, who are already looking at potential new managers.
And Sky Sports sources have confirmed that they have approached Keegan with a view to making a return to the South Coast club.
Keegan was a hugely popular figure at Southampton in the early 80s, as he spent two years with them after leaving Hamburg before joining Newcastle.
Keegan is currently out-of-work after leaving his role as Newcastle manager at the start of last season after his public falling out with club owner Mike Ashley.
