The 27-year-old made his fourth start for Stoke as they defeated Michael Laudrup's side 2-0 and picked up their first three points of the campaign.
And Cameron believes the win sets his side up perfectly ahead of Sunday's game against Liverpool, who also recorded their first win of the season with a 5-2 triumph of Norwich last weekend.
"I think it was a big win for us," the United States international told the club's official website.
"Obviously we played some tough teams before so to finally get the three points at home is a big step and gives us momentum going to Liverpool.
"They won too so we've both got some momentum. With them playing at home they obviously have the fans behind them and will want to continue from their result.
"I think there are similar styles between Swansea and Liverpool, and I think we frustrated Swansea. We cannot expect Liverpool to be exactly the same as them, but there are definitely similarities.
"We have to go there with the frame of mind that we can beat them. Every team is beatable, but it's just a matter of how well we execute our game plan.
"Against Swansea we had some pretty good possession too - we controlled it at the back and had some good possession in midfield, so I think we can do that on Sunday."
