Colchester have signed midfielder Craig Slater from Kilmarnock for an undisclosed fee.

Slater arrives from the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership club on a two-year contract and he becomes the sixth new arrival at the Weston Homes Community Stadium as U's head coach John McGreal continues to reshape his squad ahead of the forthcoming Sky Bet League Two campaign.

The 22-year-old, who began his career at St Mirren, has played 85 times for Kilmarnock, all in the top-flight, and has represented Scotland up to Under-21 level.
