Striker dismisses claims from social networking sites

Clinton Morrison remains keen to sign a new contract at Coventry City after dismissing claims he said he is not wanted at the Ricoh Arena. Several messages posted on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook have claimed that the former Crystal Palace man has been told he is unwanted at the Ricoh Arena and will be looking for a new club. However, Morrison has claimed that this is untrue and he is hoping to sign a deal to stay with the Sky Blues under new manager Aidy Boothroyd. "I've seen the things on Twitter and Facebook, but it's 100 per cent not me, although I don't know how whoever it is knows so much about me!" Morrison told the Coventry Telegraph. "I'm still waiting to hear from the club - I spoke to the chairman at the back end of last season and he said he wanted me to stay, but we didn't speak about money or anything. "My agent's going to speak to the new boss and I'll definitely be interested if they can come up with something." Morrison has made over 100 appearances for Coventry since joining from Palace two years ago and he has weighed in with 21 goals.
