Ben Gordon would be happy to make a permanent move to Kilmarnock this summer, but is waiting to hear what Chelsea have to say about his future.
The 21-year-old defender has taken in five productive months in Scotland this season, with a League Cup final victory the undoubted highlight.
He is, however, only on loan at Rugby Park and will be expected to return to parent employers Chelsea at the end of the season.
Gordon is unsure what, if any, part he plays in the Blues' long-term plans.
Should he be informed that he is surplus to requirements, the promising full-back would be prepared to discuss full-time terms with Kilmarnock.
Gordon, who is taking in his second loan spell with Killie, told the
Daily Record: "It's been another good six months. Winning the League Cup was great and it's been another excellent experience.
"Now I'm not too sure what is going to happen with me. My agent has a meeting with Chelsea this week to more or less see what the future holds.
Ambition
"I've got one more year left on my contract and it'll be to see whether they want me to go on loan again or whether I have to go and get a permanent deal.
"I'm 21 now and want to be playing regular first-team games. I now think to myself that it's not going to happen there and they have a lot of good players too.
"I've come to the conclusion I need to play first-team football and it's not likely down there. When I first signed there at 16, I knew from the very first day it would be tough to get into the team.
"But when I was there, it was an ambition to play even just one minute. It's tough having been there so long but I've reached the conclusion that I'm at the age where you have to move on.
"Now I just need to find out the future. I haven't considered anything yet because I have not been told I can leave Chelsea, so it's down to what they say.
"If they say I've to leave, my agent will get on and see what is available. I'd consider anything to play first-team games but I know this club really well now and I don't see why that would not be an option for me."
