Southampton are not in talks with Sheffield Wednesday regarding their manager Carlos Carvalhal, according to Sky sources.

The 50-year-old was reported to be a target for the Premier League club as a replacement for Ronald Koeman.

Koeman left St Mary's after two years in charge to take charge of Everton following Roberto Martinez' departure from Goodison Park.

Carvalhal, who reached the Championship play-off final and knocked Arsenal out of the Capital One Cup in his first season in charge of the Owls, was said to be due to hold talks with the Saints in the next few days.
