Seagulls boss weighing up replacements for Crofts
Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet is weighing up a move to sign Colchester United midfielder David Prutton on a free transfer.
Poyet is looking to increase his midfield options after Andrew Crofts secured a move to League One champions Norwich City on Friday.
Prutton is among the names being considered to replace Crofts and the 28-year-old worked with Poyet at Leeds United.
He has scored three goals in 19 appearances since joining Colchester from Leeds in January and has been offered a contract to stay with the Us.
However, Aidy Boothroyd's decision to become Coventry City manager could allow Poyet to nip in and agree a deal for Prutton.
Poyet told The Argus: "He is a player I like a lot and, depending on what is happening with the midfielders, we will see."
