Plymouth Argyle midfielder Karl Duguid has signed a new one-year contract and is looking forward to playing under new manager Peter Reid. The 32-year-old, who signed for the Pilgrims from Colchester in 2008, has exercised an option on his previous deal to stay at Home Park. He will be playing under a new boss next season following Reid's confirmation as manager and he believes the appointment is a coup for the League One club. "I had an option for another year if I played a certain number of games last season and that kicked in when my old contract ran out," Duguid told the club's official website. "The manager has been named and I think it it's a great appointment to be honest. "There were a lot of names in the frame before Peter was mentioned and I immediately liked the sound of that. I think it is a big coup for the club and shows ambition, in my opinion. They do not come much bigger. "With Paul Mariner and John Carver staying, too, things are looking good. There is a positive vibe around the place."
