Crystal Palace youngster Keshi Anderson has suffered a suspected broken leg playing on loan for Doncaster, according to their manager Darren Ferguson.
The 20-year-old was stretchered off just 17 minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute against Rochdale on Saturday.
It comes as a devastating blow to the striker after three goals in nine appearances since moving to the Keepmoat in September, and Ferguson believed it affected his players in a 2-0 home defeat.
"We think he has broken his leg. We are not absolutely certain but it looks that way," Ferguson said.
"I think it had a big impact on the result. My players were visibly shocked and you could see the boy was in a lot of pain.
"He signalled straight away and it is a real shame for the boy. He is a lovely lad and to have such a serious injury. He is currently in hospital."
Anderson is a Crystal Palace academy graduate but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Eagles.
