Clough keen on Grecians ace

Ambitious Championship outfit Derby County have lodged a bid for Exeter utility player Dean Moxey. Rams boss Nigel Clough is determined to conduct his summer transfer business as soon as possible and has wasted no time in identifying potential targets. The ex-Burton Albion boss has already raided his former club for centre-back Jake Buxton, while he has recently seen an approach for Blackpool defender Shaun Barker knocked back. Now Clough has turned his attention to Moxey, with the 23-year-old highly-regarded in the lower leagues. He does still have a year remaining on his current contract at St James Park, but Exeter have revealed that they are weighing up the merits of Derby's offer. A statement on the club's official website read: "Exeter City confirm that there has been an offer tabled from Derby County for Dean Moxey as revealed in a Derby newspaper this morning. "The club is now in the process of looking at and considering the offer."
