Jamie Redknapp and Tim Sherwood felt that the introduction of Danny Welbeck changed the game for Arsenal

Danny Welbeck spared Arsene Wenger's blushes as Arsenal responded to fan protests with a 1-0 win over Norwich on Saturday Night Football.

The Gunners had struggled to break down a dogged Norwich defensive set-up until Welbeck entered the fray at the Emirates Stadium shortly before the hour-mark.

Within three minutes of coming off the bench, the England striker gathered Olivier Giroud's knock down in the area and rifled home what turned out to be the winning goal, driving low beyond John Ruddy, courtesy of a slight deflection off Sebastien Bassong.

Jamie Redknapp and Tim Sherwood joined David Jones in the SNF studio to assess the game, which was Wenger's 750th Premier League game in charge of the north London club.

The substitution of Welbeck turned out to be a master stroke from Wenger, with Redknapp and Sherwood feeling his introduction changed the game for Arsenal and gave them energy and fluidity going forward in attack.
