Joe Cole says his aim is to win trophies with the Tampa Bay Rowdies after he was officially unveiled at a media conference.

Cole, who will wear the number 26 shirt for the Rowdies, left League One side Coventry at the end of the season where he scored twice in 22 league appearances.

The former West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa midfielder is happy to be making the move abroad, and insists he has arrived to Florida to win trophies.

"I'd just like to thank everyone for the warm welcome, my family and I are excited to be here," Cole said.

"I started talking with Bill [Edwards] and Stu [Stuart Campbell] about six months ago. I came to a game and everyone was just so welcoming.

"I want to be here for the start of something big. I want to win championships. There's nothing bigger in football that winning. The aim is to win championships. That's the plan."

Rowdies head coach Stuart Campbell, who used to play for Bristol Rovers, says that signing the midfielder is a magnificent capture for the club.
