Coventry have signed defender Dominic Hyam and goalkeeper Liam O'Brien on two-year contracts.

Hyam, 21, started his career at Reading and came through the youth system at the Madejski Stadium but failed to break into the first team.

With O'Brien also joining the club on a free transfer from Portsmouth, Sky Blues boss Mark Robins has taken his tally of signings to seven.

Robins said: "Dominic is a strong and aggressive centre half, who comes from a very good academy set-up at Reading.

"His time there has ensured that he has all of the attributes to be a quality defender. He has also spent time on loan in men's football, which is an experience which will undoubtedly benefit him and us.

"Liam is a quality goalkeeper, who we will be working hard with to maximise his potential. We are building a club, not just a team, for our short-term and long-term aims."
