Clinton Morrison is hoping his fine form of late will help to reignite his international career.
The Coventry striker has bagged four goals in his last six games, bringing to an end an early season drought in the best possible manner.
However, while things are looking up domestically, he continues to be overlooked by Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni.
Morrison has picked up 36 caps since making his debut in 2001, but is yet to feature for the Irish since they named their new Italian coach earlier in the year.
He has refused to give up hope, though, and believes that as long as he continues to do the business for his club, then international accolades will invariably follow.
Ambition
"I've not played for Ireland in nearly three years but I've not given up on them. I'd love to go back and play for my country," said Morrison.
"It's up to the manager and his people to come and watch Coventry to see how well I've been doing.
"If I keep scoring for Coventry I'll be knocking on the door and hopefully the media will be putting my name forward.
"If that happens, I might get back in."
