Jamie Vardy was delighted to break the Premier League record by scoring in his 11th consecutive game, but insisted getting the point against Manchester United was more important.
The Leicester striker broke Ruud van Nistelrooy's record in the 24th minute at the King Power Stadium, but saw his side pegged back by Bastian Schweinsteiger's close-range effort from a corner just before half-time.
"I'm obviously delighted but the main thing was the performance," Vardy said on Saturday Night Football. "I think we put a very good shift in today and in the end a point was probably the fair result.
"We have a lot of pace in the team and counter-attacking is a big advantage for us, so if we can break as quickly as we can, then it's going to benefit the team."
Vardy went level with Van Nistelrooy's record last week, and admitted he had been feeling the pressure in the build-up to the clash with United.
"If I let it get to me, it would have affected my performance," Vardy said. "So I've just been keeping my head down and concentrating. It was just another game we wanted to get three points in."
Van Nistelrooy later tweeted his congratulations, saying: "Well done! You're number one now and you deserved it."
The point leaves Leicester second in the Premier League, level on points with leaders Manchester City, but Vardy says he and his team-mates have no intention of getting ahead of themselves.
He said: "We'll just be taking each game as it comes, get back on the training field and look forward to Swansea next week."
