Preston boss keen to keep midfielder on permanent basis
Preston boss Darren Ferguson is hoping Manchester United will allow Matt James to join North End on a permanent deal.
The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed since arriving on loan and Ferguson will speak to his father and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson about the player.
Ferguson told the Lancashire Evening Post: "Bringing Matty back is a conversation I'll have to have with my old man.
"I would be keen on bringing him here full-stop but I'll have to see how he fits into their plans.
"He's only a kid but I've been really impressed with him."
