Southend striker signs two-year contract with League Two club

Wycombe Wanderers have signed Matt Harrold from Southend United for an undisclosed five-figure fee. Harrold has agreed a two-year contract with Wycombe after being placed on the transfer list by Southend at the end of last season. He will add to Wycombe's attacking options, with manager Peter Taylor having been keen to replace the departed John Sutton and Leon Knight. "I've seen Matt play a lot of times for Southend and I really like him," Taylor told the club's official website. "He's got a lot of quality and he's got all the things you want from a big striker, so I'm really pleased to have signed him. "It's been a frustrating time for Matt at the end of last season and the beginning of this one because he hasn't been playing much. "But I've kept an eye on him and I'd like to thank the board for allowing me to get what I wanted."
