Leeds defender Lewie Coyle has joined Sky Bet League One club Fleetwood on a season-long loan.

Right-back Coyle, 21, restricted to four appearances in the Championship last season, is reunited with Fleetwood head coach and former Leeds boss Uwe Rosler.

"Lewie fits into the Fleetwood Town DNA. With that I mean the mentality, athleticism, game understanding and technique," Rosler told Fleetwood's official website.

"Myself and (assistant) Rob Kelly know Lewie really well from our time at Leeds.

"He is a very exciting player who has played in the Championship and Leeds trust us to develop their player. I'm sure Lewie will grow and show his attributes and get better with each game he plays."
