Midfielder aiming to play total football at Brighton

Steven Thomson is aiming to help Brighton & Hove Albion into the play-offs after completing his move to the League One club. The midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at the Withdean Stadium after Brighton paid Falkirk an undisclosed fee. Thomson is looking forward to playing for Dean Wilkins' side and is targeting a top-six finish at the end of the season. "I'm pleased to be here," Thomson told the club's official website. "It has taken a while to get the contract sorted, but it is good to finally be here.

Experience

"The manager has told me he expects the club to get into the play-offs this season. He expects us to play good football and he wants me to come in and show a bit of experience. After having that conversation with him it sounds good. "We were about total football up at Falkirk and when the manager said we would play football here it was good to hear that. "Obviously I know the division can be hard and sometimes you have to go route one, but if we're going to play football here then that will suit my style." Brighton are currently seven points outside the play-off places, but do have games in hand on some of their rivals.
