Fergie fumes at McLean

Posh boss disappointed by striker's request

Darren Ferguson has slammed Aaron McLean over the timing of the striker's transfer request. The wantaway Peterborough star made the announcement that he wanted to leave on Tuesday, two days after stating that he was happy at the club and had no desire to move on. The 25-year-old scored 33 goals as the Posh secured promotion from League Two last season and Ferguson is understandably disappointed at the prospect of losing one of his most potent attacking weapons. "I'm obviously disappointed and I believe Aaron has made the wrong decision," he told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph.

Valuation

"He's obviously gone away, spoken to his advisors and decided to hand in a transfer request which is his right. "We made Aaron a great offer, but he's decided he wants to leave instead. "But until we receive an offer which matches our valuation he remains our player and he remains in my plans. "We need to move on from all the speculation now and concentrate on getting ready for the new season - I will not be seeking another striker at this time."
