Wales international to stay until 2010

Oldham Athletic striker Craig Davies has signed a one-year contract extension at Boundary Park. Davies joined the League One club from Verona last summer and scored 15 goals during his debut season with the Latics. His contract was due to expire in 12 months' time, but the Wales international will now stay until 2010. The Latics are delighted to have secured Davies' future ahead of the opening game of the new season at home to Millwall on Saturday. Chief executive Alan Hardy told the club's official website: "Craig's contract was due to expire at the end of this season, and it was important the club protected their interests in a proven goalscorer. "We hope Craig now goes on to have an extremely successful season in 2008/09."
