Peterborough defender Craig Morgan believes his side can emulate the likes of Wigan, Hull and Reading by climbing up the leagues.
Peterborough underlined their potential with a 1-1 draw away at Premier League outfit West Brom in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
Manager Darren Ferguson led the side to promotion from League Two last season and the club are now well poised for promotion to the Championship at the first attempt.
The Posh are currently fourth in League One, six points off the automatic promotion places, and Morgan is confident with the backing of owner Darragh MacAnthony the club can go as far as the Premier League.
"Everyone wants to play at the top level and there are players here capable of playing in the Premier League, but I think this club is going to go to the top level," the Welshman said.
"Players might not have to move from this club to get to the Premier League in three to five years time.
"I honestly think that is true. Obviously everyone has to add as you go along, as everyone does, but there is no reason why not for this club.
"The Wigan's and the Reading's have come through the leagues and got to the Premier League.
"Obviously Reading have gone down now for the time being but Wigan are holding their own and you need an ambitious chairman, an ambitious manager and a good set of players.
"They have good backers and we have a similar sort of person behind us."
