On-loan Crewe striker eager for permanent move

Anthony Elding is hoping to secure a permanent switch to Lincoln from Crewe in the summer. The striker has been on loan with the Sincil Bank side for the past three months and will play his final game for Peter Jackson's side in Tuesday night's trip to Chesterfield. Elding, 26, comes from near Lincoln and is now eager for an agreement to be reached with Crewe at the end of the season which would make him an Imps player. Jackson's men are still in with a chance of securing a play-off place and victory over Chesterfield would take them to within three points of seventh-placed Shrewsbury.

Rumours

He told The Sentinel: "My last game for Lincoln will be emotional as I've come back home and I've loved every minute of it. "It's just a shame I can't stay until the end of the season, especially because the play-offs are in sight, but I definitely want to come back and, hopefully, the clubs can come to some arrangement. "I've got two years left on my Crewe contract, but I've heard rumours they are willing to sell and that £75,000 would be enough. "That would be a decent deal because I know, given a full pre-season behind me and the fact I will be back home, I will score goals."
