Boss would like out-of-favour Virgo and Hart to remain at Brighton

Brighton boss Gus Poyet insists he is keen to hang on to out-of-favour duo Adam Virgo and Gary Hart. Both players have had to make do with a place on the bench for the majority of this season, sparking speculation that the pair could be moving away from the Withdean Stadium. But Poyet insists that the pair, who have both been loyal servants to the club and can play in a number of different positions, are very much involved in his future plans.

Team philosophy

The Seagulls boss told skysports.com: "My philosophy is all about the team rather than individuals and my players understand that they have their part to play in this club's future. "Everyone is important and we want to make sure that everything benefits the club. "Obviously, when players don't play they don't particularly like it, but they understand that is football and there are only 11 positions to fill each game. "It is up to them to compete for those places and my decision to select which have won the battle for those positions."
Further signings
The Seagulls have signed Inigo Calderon and Marcos Painter already in this transfer window, with Poyet refusing to rule out further signings. "The transfer window is an important time of the season, but only if it used in the right way," he said. "I'm not going to bring in players just for the sake of bringing some in. I will be focusing my time on selecting the right players which will improve on the squad and that I have confidence in to use them when called upon. "It won't be easy to do that, but I will be patient and make sure the players that are brought in are the right ones for the football club."
