Posh striker in line to face Colchester

Gillingham have completed the loan signing of Peterborough striker Rene Howe for the rest of the season. The 23-year-old has struggled to hold down a first-team role at London Road since his arrival from Kettering in 2007, but has netted regularly in previous loan spells at Rochdale, Morecambe and Lincoln. Gills boss Mark Stimson had been keen to add some height to his front line and wasted no time in acquiring the six-footer after they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night. Howe will meet his new team-mates in Thursday's training session and goes straight into the squad to face Colchester on Saturday. Meanwhile, Stimson is said to be "very confident" of further arrivals before the Priestfield Stadium clash.
