Winger allowed to move on by Robins

Swindon Town have decided against renewing the contract of youngster Lloyd Macklin. Macklin rose through the youth ranks at the County Ground but will end his association with the club when his deal expires on 1st July. The midfielder made his first-team debut in September 2007 but has managed just 14 further appearances for the Robins since bursting onto the scene. Macklin spent a month on loan at League Two side Torquay at the back end of last season but will not be required by manager Danny Wilson for the new campaign. Swindon said releasing the player would help him play regular first-team football at another club. Chairman Andrew Fitton told the club's official website: "We think it is in Lloyd's best interest that he is free to find a new club. "Opportunities for him became increasingly limited as last season progressed and as the squad is developing we feel that he may not play regularly in the coming season. "We wish Lloyd well in finding a club where he is able to get more experience."
