Chesterfield midfielder intends to fulfil his contract

Chesterfield's experienced midfielder Mark Allott hopes to continue playing beyond his current contract, which runs out at the end of next season. The 34-year-old was a regular this season, making 42 appearances, as the Spireites suffered relegation back into League Two at the first attempt. The composed ball-winner has amassed over 650 appearances during an established career, and he confirmed he does not intend to call it a day any time soon. "I'm 34 now and I still feel that I have a lot to offer, so until the manager tells me otherwise I'll just keep working hard and hopefully playing in the team," Allott told Sky Sports. "I've featured in the majority of this season's fixtures and as long as I feel fit and able to do a job for the side I'll keep playing."
