Holloway says chairman remains in talks with Toon

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway says the Seasiders are still hopeful of securing the services of striker Nile Ranger on a loan deal from Newcastle. Pool reportedly made an offer for the 20-year-old in the recent transfer window but a deal failed to materialise. However, chairman Karl Oyston remains in talks with the Tyneside club and is trying to arrange a loan deal for the young hitman. Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette: "I don't like talking about other people's players but my chairman has been talking to them constantly, though nothing has materialised yet." The manager added that the possibility of signing Rob Hulse from QPR is in doubt after the striker strained his medial knee ligament to rule him out until the end of the month. "Rob is still injured, so that won't be happening at the moment," added Holloway. "There is no point signing someone who is injured."
