Alan Curtis is expected to play a prominent role in Paul Clement's coaching set-up at Swansea.

Curtis has been caretaker manager on three separate occasions at the club, most recently on Tuesday night for their 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace.

The 62-year old's future was called into question after Swansea announced the appointments of Nigel Gibbs and Karl Halabi on Tuesday as part of Clement's backroom staff.

However, the Premier League club are keen not to lose Curtis' experience and believe he can still make a key contribution at the club.

"Paul Clement is in the process of finalising his coaching set-up and nothing has been decided yet," said Swansea.

"Whatever is decided, Alan Curtis will have a prominent role within the club going forward."

"It was a surprise [for me to lose him] because everything happened on the last day of the year," Bayern boss Ancelotti said.

"He had an offer from Swansea, decided to come back to England and I wish him good luck because he was a really good assistant.

"I think he has a lot of motivation because he wanted to come back to England and be a manager in the Premier League. I hope he's going to do a great job at Swansea."

Clement is Swansea's third permanent manager this season after the club sacked Francesco Guidolin in October before parting company with his replacement Bob Bradley last week.
