Midfielder keen to build on recent Premier League debut

Swansea City midfielder Jazz Richards has signed a new 18-month contract and is now determined to build on his recent Premier League debut. The Wales Under 21 international featured as a substitute in the defeat at Norwich City earlier this month and was also on the bench for last weekend's draw at Wolves. The 20-year-old is delighted to have been rewarded with a new deal at the Liberty Stadium and has praised Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers. "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract," Richards told the club's official website.

Dream

"I've really enjoyed being part of the squad in the last few seasons and I feel I am developing all the time. "It was always my dream to play for my hometown club, so you can imagine what playing for the club in the Premier League means. It was only a brief appearance against Norwich, but it was an amazing experience despite the result. "I feel I am very much part of the manager's plans here. He is always keen to give youngsters a chance, and that is very encouraging. "Of course, like any player, the aim is to be involved in as many games as possible. But I understand the manager has everyone pushing hard for places. But there is no better place for me to learn my trade. "The manager has been excellent with me. Even when we sit in the team meetings, the way he speaks is so motivational. You want to run through brick walls for him."
