David Prutton's EFL predictions: Wins for Leeds and Middlesbrough

Prutton's Predictions

David Prutton returns with his latest round of predictions ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet EFL matches.

But who is our resident expert tipping for victory? Read on to find out...

Barnsley v Aston Villa, Saturday 5.15pm - live on Sky Sports Football

You look at the difference between the squads that Paul Heckingbottom and Steve Bruce have at their disposal and you can't envisage Aston Villa losing here.

But Villa have struggled so badly on the road for so long, and they will have been extremely disappointed to draw their last two games at home - without even scoring a goal.

Oakwell is a tough place to go and Heckingbottom will have his side fired up in front of the Sky cameras. I fancy an entertaining draw, especially if Jonathan Kodjia is back in the starting line-up for Villa.

Prutton predicts: 2-2 with Jonathan Kodjia to score first (50/1 with Sky Bet)

Cardiff v Sheffield Wednesday, Saturday 3pm

Cardiff have come back down to earth with a bit of a bump this week, drawing last weekend then being thumped at Preston on Tuesday.

I expect Neil Warnock to get a reaction from his side but Carlos Carvalhal seems to have settled on his side and I think Sheffield Wednesday will get a draw here.

Prutton predicts: 1-1 (5/1 with Sky Bet)

Hull v Sunderland, Saturday 3pm

Two teams that need a result all of a sudden. Hull were looking okay until they got hammered at Derby last Friday night and then they went and lost at Fulham.

Simon Grayson is still the right man for the job at Sunderland for me but he needs time to arrest the slide. I can't see them getting anything from the KCOM Stadium though.

Prutton predicts: 3-2 (28/1 with Sky Bet)

Ipswich v Bolton, Saturday 3pm

Ipswich are another side to have had a bit of a reality check in recent weeks after their brilliant start, but I fancy them to get back to winning ways against struggling Bolton.

Phil Parkinson's side will now be fully aware how tough they're going to find it this season, and their wait for a first win is going to go on a bit longer.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (8/1 with Sky Bet)

Middlesbrough v QPR, Saturday 3pm

Both sides are coming off the back of draws in midweek. Middlesbrough played for an awfully long time with 10 men in midweek, so you wonder what kind of impact that will have on them here.

QPR, meanwhile, battled back well against Millwall but they look a far different side at home than they do away, so I see this as a home win.

Prutton predicts: 2-1 (7/1 with Sky Bet)

Millwall v Leeds, Saturday 3pm

Leeds are riding on the crest of a wave. Thomas Christiansen has had a great start, their recruitment looks good and it doesn't look like they're going to miss Chris Wood at all.

Millwall will be happy to get back home after a couple of tough away trips. They beat Norwich 4-0 last time, but I think Leeds will have too much for them.

Prutton predicts: 0-2 (11/1 with Sky Bet)

Nottingham Forest v Wolves, Saturday 3pm

Things were starting to take a downward turn at Nottingham Forest until their late win at Sunderland in midweek, a result that would have hugely lifted the spirits of Mark Warburton and Co.

It looked like Wolves may have walked the division at one stage, but their draw at home to Bristol City proved just how tough the Sky Bet Championship is, and I think they'll be held to another point here.

Prutton predicts: 2-2 (12/1 with Sky Bet)

Sheffield United v Norwich, Saturday 3pm

This is a home win all day for me. Sheffield United haven't lost at Bramall Lane in a very long time and it will be bouncing there again on Saturday.

Norwich, meanwhile, couldn't break down Burton in midweek and I can't see them picking up anything here.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (11/1 with Sky Bet)

Oldham v Shrewsbury, Saturday 3pm

What a brilliant start Shrewsbury have had in Sky Bet League One so far! All the talk was of Wigan, Blackburn and other bigger clubs in pre-season, but the Shrews sit top of the pile and they're still unbeaten.

Oldham haven't had a great start and I'll have to go with the form book on this one and back an away win.

Prutton predicts: 1-3 (22/1 with Sky Bet)

Lincoln v Mansfield, Saturday 1pm

Mansfield haven't quite lived up to their billing as pre-season favourites in Sky Bet League Two as of yet and Steve Evans will be wanting more from his side.

That being said, Lincoln have started excellently after promotion under the Cowley brothers and I fancy them to continue that with a victory on Saturday.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (10/1 with Sky Bet)
