Gillingham boss hoping to keep striker

Mark Stimson is determined to keep Simeon Jackson at Gillingham and has warned off any potential suitors. Canadian striker Jackson joined Gillingham from Rushden & Diamonds in January for a fee of £150,000. He scored his tenth goal of the season in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Barnet and Stimson does not want him to leave Priestfield in the New Year even if a big offer comes in. Stimson said: "He's an international, 21 years of age, and he's got everything in front of him. "The chairman might have a different view but personally I wouldn't take a million pounds for him. "He's got at least another 10 goals in him between now and the end of the season and there aren't many players out there who can guarantee you that." Meanwhile, Stimson has challenged Gary Mulligan to seize his chance to shine against Brentford this weekend. Adam Miller will miss the match after being booked for the fifth time this season at Underhill. Stimson said: "Unfortunately we'll miss Adam next week so hopefully Gary can stay fit this weekend and then he'll get an opportunity to start up front on Saturday."
