Rovers player hopes for longer loan move

Port Vale have signed Lewis Haldane on a one-month loan contract from Bristol Rovers. The 24-year-old has been training with Micky Adams' squad for the past week and has impressed with his versatility. Adams believes Haldane, who can play as a striker or winger, will bring options to Vale as they continue their League Two campaign. "I have been impressed with Lewis during training and I'm pleased we have managed to secure him a month's loan," the Vale boss told the club's official website. "He will bring some width to the squad, as well as a different option upfront." Haldane is now aiming to earn a place in Vale's squad for Saturday's meeting with Grimsby, and possibly a longer stay. "Hopefully I can get some games now," he said. "It's been a frustrating time at Bristol Rovers and I haven't really had an opportunity in the last seven or eight months so hopefully I can do the business, get a few matches and maybe stay longer."
