Leyton Orient have handed a four-month contract to Kevin Lisbie, who has been without a club since the end of last season.
The striker was released by Ipswich at the start of the summer, dropping him into the free agent pool.
A number of clubs contemplated making a move for the 32-year-old, but nothing concrete was put in place.
Lisbie, however, has been able to earn himself a short-term deal with Orient.
Ability
He will bring Premier League experience with him to Brisbane Road from his days at Charlton, while he has been a regular scorer at Football League level for Colchester, Ipswich and Millwall.
Orient are delighted to have snapped up a proven marksman and are confident he will prove to be a shrewd acquisition.
"Kevin has played much of his career at Championship and Premier League level and it's surprising really to see someone with such ability not with a football club at this stage of the season," O's boss Russell Slade told the club's
official website.
"He's desperate to get going again, so all the enthusiasm he's had all his life is there and he wants to do what he does best for us."
