Bournemouth's veteran striker Steve Fletcher believes it is too early to start talking about promotion, despite the Cherries' outstanding start to the season.
The League Two leaders struggled to overcome Burton Albion last weekend, and slipped to defeat at Hereford in midweek, but remain top of the pile.
Fletcher, who is in his 13th season for the Cherries, knows there is a long way to go though before League One is in their sights.
"Things are going quite well at the moment, but it is still very early in the season," he told
skysports.com.
"If we are still talking about promotion when April comes around then I'm sure I'll be a bit more excited.
"We've got a mixture of young and old at the club, with the majority being the younger generation, but they have mature heads on their shoulders.
"The gaffer (Eddie Howe) is a prime example, as he is only 31 and he is a very level-headed boss that doesn't like to get carried away very often.
"If we win then yes we are happy, but we don't go around singing our own praises. If others want to do that then that is up to them, but we just look ahead to the next game because that will be harder and more challenging."
Confidence
Despite the club's financial problems, which saw them deducted 17 points before the start of last season, the Cherries have stormed to the top of the table with eight wins taken from their 10 games so far.
Fletcher believes the off-field woes of the past have helped the club unite and hit the ground running this season.
"We've just carried on from last season really and confidence has grown along the way," he added.
"We've just got to get on with it really and not let off-field events affect our performances. It has brought us together as a team because there are two options for us, with one being to moan and groan about it or you just get on with it.
"It's not going to change overnight, so we've just got to stick together and there is a really tight-knit community at the club. I've never worked with a group of lads that have been so close and get on so well with each other."
