Shane Duff has signed a new one-year deal to keep him at Cheltenham Town for another season.

Robins defender commits short-term future to the club

Shane Duff has signed a new one-year deal to keep him at Cheltenham Town for another season. The defender was restricted to just 18 League One starts last term, largely due to an Achilles problem, but a run of games towards the end of the season was enough for the club to offer him a new contract. The 27-year-old was the only player whose terms expired at the end of last term to be offered a new deal and, after negotiating over the weekend, the centre-half has signed on the dotted line. The news has delighted manager Martin Allen who knows all too well how important Duff, who came up through the club's youth ranks, is to the team.

Superb

"I'm delighted that Shane has agreed to stay with us," the Robins boss told the club's official website. "He was superb towards the end of last season and he is an important member of the team. "I have been working hard over the last few weeks to bring new players to the club as well. "Hopefully we will see some progress on that before much longer."
