McCombe and McLean in the mix

It is not just the strikers who get most of the votes in our Fans' Player of the Month awards - Jamie McCombe is testimony to that in the race to win the PFA Fans' Award for September in League One. Time is running out for you to get your vote in for your favourite Player of the Month, but you can get involved by clicking here. The giant Huddersfield defender is giving the 'golden boys' a run for their money after claiming two goals in two minutes in the 4-2 win against Yeovil at the weekend. The result took Town to the top of the League One table, and McCombe has more than played his part at both ends of the field. That's three for the season for McCombe, who is back on familiar territory after his summer switch from Bristol City. "I wouldn't have come to Huddersfield if I didn't think they would make it to the Championship soon. I'm playing for a club with the potential to get back to where I want to be."
Aaron McLean
Peterborough's impressive start to their League One campaign has been mirrored by the form of striker Aaron McLean, a player many Posh fans thought might be on the move in the summer as boss Gary Johnson rung the changes. With extra competition for places in the Posh ranks, McLean knew he had to start the season well and he already has six goals in ten games to his name. He said: "I am under pressure every time I set foot on to the pitch because we have a superb squad. "The players waiting to come in will do a really good job and I believe I am thriving under that pressure. I know full well that I have to perform in every single game that I play because if I don't I know that someone will come in and take my place in the side."
Josh McQuoid

Quartet battle for League One PFA Fans' award

Bournemouth striker Josh McQuoid has proved that there's life after Brett Pitman at Dean Court, with five goals in five league games for the Cherries. Eddie Howe continues to work wonders for the south coast club, and McQuoid's goals have put the side in play-off contention after last years promotion.
Kevin O'Connor and Gary Roberts
Also in the current shortlist is Brentford's versatile midfielder Kevin O'Connor and Huddersfield winger Gary Roberts. O'Connor has player every minute for the Bees in League One this season, and is a stalwart in either the right back or central midfield position. Roberts, along with fellow Terriers contender McCombe, has been in fine form at the Galpharm Stadium. His three goals so far this season have been integral in their push up the table.
