Plymouth have signed Latvia international defender Nauris Bulvitis, subject to a medical.

Bulvitis, 29, a free agent after recently leaving Latvian side Spartaks Jurmala, has agreed an undisclosed deal with Sky Bet League Two side Argyle.

"Latvian international defender Nauris Bulvitis has become Argyle's latest signing of the summer," the club said on their official website.

"Nauris will officially join the club on July 1, subject to a medical, having recently left Latvian side Spartaks Jurmala after his second spell with the club."

Centre-half Bulvitis, who has made 19 appearances for Latvia, helped Inverness win the Scottish First Division title during a loan spell in 2010.

Plymouth also announced a double striker signing, bringing David Goodwillie and Jimmy Spencer to Home Park.

Scotland international Goodwillie, 27, left Aberdeen at the end of his contract, while 24-year-old Spencer was also a free agent following a short spell at Cambridge.
