Shrewsbury Town youngster Chris Humphrey has signed a one-year contract extension.

Humphrey extends contract until 2009

Shrewsbury Town youngster Chris Humphrey has signed a one-year contract extension. The winger has made eight appearances in League Two this season and has also had a spell on loan at Stafford Rangers in the Blue Square Premier. He has now agreed to stay at New Meadow until the summer of 2009 and Shrews boss Gary Peters expects Humphrey to start making an impact. "It's great news that we've been able to renew Chris' contract for next season," Peters told the club's official website. "We feel that he is in and around the side now and this will give him a little bit of confidence and feel that he's here for the long term. "It means he can relax and continue to improve without having to force himself into contention for a contract at the end of the season."
