Shrewsbury defender Kelvin Langmead is hoping for a regular run in the side after impressing in Tuesday's 7-0 demolition of Wycombe.
Paul Simpson's side proved far too strong for their League Two rivals as Grant Holt helped himself to five goals in the Johnstone's Paint destruction.
Highly-rated defender Langmead, who has been linked with a number of Championship clubs, was delighted to get 90 minutes under his belt and is hoping his performance has given Simpson something to think about.
"I am absolutely delighted with the result [against Wycombe] and the most pleasing thing for me was keeping a clean sheet first and foremost," Langmead told
skysports.com.
"It was also pleasing watching the team score so many goals which they have been promising to do so in so many games.
"It shows Shrewsbury have strength in depth and that the manager has got options and competition for places.
"The team has kept clean sheets in four of the eights games I have played this season and that is my focus when I play.
Frustrating
"Yes it has been frustrating not starting every game, I have played eight games so far this season, but every player wants to be playing.
"Whether I have done well enough to keep my place in the side is not for me to judge.
"I just focus on giving my all whether it be in training or in matches."
The former Preston youngster's current contract expires at the end of the season, but Langmead says he is not worried about his future at the minute.
"Yes I am out of contract at the end of the season, but that does not concern me as my agent will deal with that.
"I am just focused on putting in the work and doing the best for Shrewsbury whenever required."
