Benyon sticks with Gulls

Torquay striker Elliot Benyon has signed a fresh one-year contract with the Football League new boys.

Striker never considered leaving Plainmoor

Torquay United striker Elliot Benyon has signed a fresh one-year contract with the Football League new boys. Benyon's deal was due to expire, but the 21-year-old has accepted the offer to stay with the Gulls for a further 12 months. He joined Torquay two years ago from Bristol City and insists he was never looking to leave Plainmoor. "It was an easy decision to make," Benyon told the club's official website. "When I was offered a new contract that was it for me as far as I was concerned. "The club going back into the Football League is a massive thing and for me personally it is very exciting. "I'm really looking forward to it, I need to get a good pre-season in and go from there."
